The amount of system memory displayed is less than
the amount of physical memory installed. |
- Make sure that:
- All installed memory is listed in the output of the lscfg
-vp command.
- The memory modules are seated properly.
- You have installed the correct type of memory.
- All banks of memory on the DIMMs are enabled. The blade server
might have automatically disabled a DIMM bank when it detected a problem
or a DIMM bank could have been manually disabled.
- Check the Advanced Management Module event log for an error message.
- If the DIMM was disabled by a system-management interrupt (SMI),
replace the DIMM.
- If the DIMM was disabled by the POST, obtain the eight-digit error
code and location code and replace the failing DIMM.
- Reseat the DIMM.
- Replace the DIMM.
- Replace the system-board
