When connecting to the advanced management module,
you can choose to connect through the Ethernet port, the serial port (RJ-45
connector), or the video monitor and USB ports on the back of the advanced management module.
- The Ethernet connection can be used to connect to a management station,
either through an Ethernet cable, or on the network. You can use this connection
to access the advanced management module Web
Interface or the command-line interface (CLI).
- The video connector can be used to connect a compatible SVGA or VGA video
monitor to the BladeCenter S system.
In addition, you can connect a mouse and keyboard (or other USB devices).
- The serial connector can be used to configure and manage the BladeCenter
components over a serial connection through the advanced management module command-line
interface (CLI).
To manage blade servers, you can use the BladeCenter S system,
Serial over LAN, or the serial pass-thru module.
