Blade server cannot communicate with external network

If a blade server cannot communicate with the external network, there may be an I/O connectivity problem.

Problem

A blade server starts but cannot communicate with the external network.

Investigation

Perform these steps to resolve the problem.
  1. Log in to the advanced management module and verify that external ports are enabled for the I/O module. From I/O Module tasks, click Configuration, choose the I/O module and click Admin/Power/Restart.
