Fan module is stopped

If a fan module is stopped, check to see if the fault LED is lit on any of the fan modules.

Problem

One of the fan modules in the BladeCenter S chassis is stopped.

Investigation

Perform these steps to resolve the problem:
  1. Check the fan modules to see if the fault LED is lit. If the fault LED is lit, replace the fan module.
  2. From the advanced management module Web interface, go to the System Status page and check the status of the fan module. If the System Status page shows that the fan module has failed, replace the fan module.
  3. Reseat the fan module.
  4. Swap the fan module with another working fan module.
    1. If the problem fan module does not work, but the other fan module does work, replace the fan module.
    2. If the problem fan module now works, but the other fan module no longer works, call IBM support.
