Power LED continually flashes rapidly

A power LED that continually flashes rapidly for more than two minutes is an indication that the firmware in the advanced management module does not support this blade server or that there is a communications problem between the advanced management module and the blade server.

Problem

You attempted to power on a blade server but instead of powering on, the power LED flashes rapidly for more than two minutes.

Investigation

Perform these steps to resolve the problem:
  1. Log in to the advanced management module and view the event log for errors associated with this blade server.
    Note: If there are service processor communication error messages or kernel mode error messages, see Service processor communication (SP COMM) errors displayed for a blade server and Kernel mode displayed for blade server.
  2. If no errors are present, verify that the installed version of the advanced management module firmware supports the blade server.
