Removing an advanced management module

You can remove the advanced management module while the BladeCenter S system is powered on. To remove it, disconnect all cables, open the release handle, and slide the advanced management module out of the BladeCenter S chassis.

If the advanced management module that is currently installed in theBladeCenter S chassis is functioning, make sure that the configuration file has been saved before replacing the BladeCenter S Types 7779 and 8886.

  1. Disconnect all cables from the advanced management module.
  2. Open the release handle (rotate the handle down) to disengage the advanced management module from the BladeCenter S chassis.
  3. Slide the advanced management module out of the BladeCenter S chassis.
    Note: When you remove the advanced management module, the fan modules will begin to run at full speed.
