The removal of a midplane should only be performed by a trained service technician.
Read Safety and Installation guidelines before
performing this procedure.
- Remove the SPC chassis (shuttle) from the BladeCenter S chassis (see Removing the SPC chassis (shuttle)).
- Make sure the release handles are closed and position the SPC chassis so that the midplane is facing up.
- Disconnect the two upper fan-to-midplane cable plugs from the midplane connectors.
- Disconnect the two lower fan-to-midplane cable plugs from the midplane connectors.
- Remove the nine screws that secure the midplane to the shuttle.
- Lift the midplane away from the SPC chassis.
