Use these instructions to install the operating system
on the blade server.
To install the operating system on a blade server, you
can use any of the following methods:
- Use the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD
to install a supported MicrosoftWindows operating system.
- Use Remote Deployment Manager (RDM) Version 4.20 (or later) to
install a supported operating system. To determine whether RDM supports
an operating system, seehttp://www.ibm.com
/systems/management/.
- Download the latest operating-system installation instructions
and install the operating system.
Important: The operating system in the blade server
must provide USB support for the blade server to recognize and use
the keyboard, mouse, and removable-media drives. The BladeCenter unit
uses USB for internal communication with these devices.
