Removing the 1-node speed burst card

Use this information to remove the 1-node speed burst card from a blade server.

To remove the 1-node speed burst card, complete the following steps.

  1. Before you begin, read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the scalable blade complex is installed in a BladeCenter chassis, remove it (see Removing the blade server from the BladeCenter chassis for instructions).
  3. Carefully lay the blade server on a flat, static-protective surface.
  4. Open the blade server cover (see Removing the blade server cover for instructions).
  5. Stand the blade server upright on a clean, flat work surface, with the scalability connector facing up.
  6. Open the lower handle (rotate the lower handles down) to allow the blade server to sit flat on the work surface.
  7. Using the 3/16" hex driver that comes with the 1-node speed burst card, loosen the nut that attaches the 1-node speed burst card to the blade server.
  8. Lift the 1-node speed burst card off the blade server.
  9. If you are instructed to return the speed burst card, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
