Configuring the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter

Complete the following steps to update the firmware of the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM® BladeCenter®. No configuration is required for the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter to enable SOL.

Notes:

You will not be able to perform this procedure if the values for the network configuration of the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter are not within the same subnet as the BladeCenter management-module network interfaces (eth0 and eth1). See Configuring the management module for information.
These steps require that an accessible TFTP (Trivial FTP) server is present on your production network.

Obtain the latest version of Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter firmware from http://www.ibm.com/support/.
Update the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter firmware, following the instructions that come with the update file that you downloaded. The Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module has multiple firmware images. These images must all be updated, in the correct order. Make sure that you restart the Nortel Networks Layer 2-7 GbE Switch Module after updating each firmware image.
